There are five of us on the organising committee, four volunteers and one library staff member. We are ably assisted by a small army of festival helpers without whom the event would not happen. The Ennis Book Club Festival is supported by Clare County Library.
Our wish is to create a festival that we ourselves would like to go to, one where we can combine our passion for reading with a great weekend away. We love meeting with other book club members and book lovers and comparing notes. We want to meet the writers to hear about their work and to hear about what they like to read. We want to get ideas on what should be included on our reading lists and to get tips on approaching new material. Most of all we want to enjoy ourselves doing what we love best - talking about reading.
