String Quartet Music

Based in Cork, as Artists in Residence at UCC and holding residencies at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama and at the National Concert Hall, the Vanbrugh Quartet are founders of the West Cork Chamber Music Festival. The Quartet is establishing the National String Quartet Foundation at UCC with the twin aims of providing and enhancing quartet music education and quartet performance. The Vanbrugh Quartet champions the work of Irish composers in concerts and broadcasts in Ireland and abroad, and has premiered new works by Gerald Barry, Seoirse Bodley, Siobhán Cleary, David Cox, Raymond Deane, Donnacha Dennehy, Stephen Gardner, John Gibson, Deirdre Gribbin, Ronan Guilfoyle, Rachel Holstead, John Kinsella, Philip Martin, Jane O’Leary, Stephen Parker, Sam Perkin, Eric Sweeney, Niall Vallely, Kevin Volans, David Wallace and Ian Wilson.
