Christine Dwyer Hickey

Christine Dwyer Hickey is an award-winning novelist and short story writer. Twice winner of the Listowel Writers' Week short story competition she has also been a prize-winner in the prestigious Observer/Penguin short story competition. She is the author of the Dublin Trilogy, The Dancer, The Gambler and the Gatemaker (1995-2000) which spans three generations of a Dublin family from 1913-1956. Her bestselling novel Tatty was chosen as one of the 50 Irish Books of the Decade, longlisted for the Orange Prize and shortlisted for the Hughes & Hughes Irish Novel of the Year Award. Her novel Last Train from Liguria was also a bestseller (Atlantic Books UK) and was nominted for the Prix L'Européen de Littérature. Her latest novel The Cold Eye of Heaven (Atlantic Books UK) has already received wide critical acclaim and has just been shortlisted for the Hughes & Hughes Irish Book of the Year. She is a member of Aosdana.
